Role Overview

As a Bookkeeper at Ignite Spot, you’ll play a key role in keeping clients’ financial records accurate, timely, and organized. From daily transactions to monthly reconciliations, your work supports the success of businesses across the country. You’ll collaborate with accountants, client managers, and fellow bookkeepers to ensure our clients have the clarity they need to make smart financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Reconciliation

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions in QuickBooks Online and Xero
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts accurately and on time
  • Maintain up-to-date general ledger balances and supporting documentation

Reporting & Support

  • Assist with preparing month-end reports
  • Flag missing information and follow up with clients or teammates
  • Provide summary data or exports to support accounting team workflows

Process & Tools Management

  • Monitor and maintain accounting app integrations (e.g., bank feeds, payroll systems, merchant accounts)
  • Identify and help resolve discrepancies in transactions or balances
  • Follow internal processes and provide feedback for improvements

Collaboration

  • Support accountants and team members during monthly close cycles
  • Participate in team meetings and share progress or blockers
  • Communicate with clients as needed to clarify transactions or collect missing data

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger workflows
  • Experience managing app integrations and connected financial systems
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently within a structured process
  • High school diploma required; associate degree or bookkeeping certification preferred

Note: This is a part-time, temporary position. Hours are expected to range from approximately 15–20 per week, increasing to as much as 30–40 per week during a temporary leave-coverage period this fall. Depending on client growth and team capacity, there is potential for expanded or extended hours over time.
