We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Clerk to support the financial operations of our growing company. This position offers flexibility for the right candidate and may be an excellent fit for:

  • An experienced accounting or bookkeeping professional seeking a long-term part-time opportunity.
  • A student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field who is looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience through a paid internship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and transaction categorization.
  • Process weekly check runs for approved invoices.
  • Enter and reconcile all company credit card transactions to ensure accurate tracking and allocation of expenses.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly invoices and follow up on outstanding payments
  • Support month end closing activities.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal team members
  • Prepare and process bank deposits.
  • Ensure accurate, timely preparation and filing of state and local sales tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Create and maintain complete job contract files, ensuring all necessary documents are collected and properly organized to support accurate accounting and billing.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Experience in accounting software; QuickBooks or Foundation experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with AIA or progress billing is a strong asset.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while working on a computer.
